Why I love to juice

I was introduced to juicing carrots when I was 24 years old. I juiced ocassionaly because I was told that juicing was good for one’s health. It wasn’t until I was in my early 40’s that I began a raw food / juice program. My youngest of 5 children was about 2 years old and I had been struggling with some health problems. I was always tired and had aches and pains in my shoulders and back. I had no energy to go from day to day. I was not in the best of health. A dear friend once again reminded me of the benefits of juicing and eating raw foods.

I recommend juicing to anyone who is dealing with health problems. For years I, like many had been eating processed and impure foods. When I began my raw food / juicing program, I noticed a change immediately. Juices help to cleanse the body and begin to nourish bodies that have been depleted for years. This is exactly what happened to me.

I had an extreme burst of energy, then went through a sluggish period as I was detoxing and then once again continued on with energy. I was told by many friends that my eyes sparkled and my skin looked so youthful. I felt youthful. I had energy, my aches and pains disappeared, I thought more clearly. I was more active and felt more confident. It was as though I were in my early 20s again.

By taking in fresh raw vegetable juices my body was able to build and get stronger. When drinking raw fresh juices the digestive process is so much easier on the body. It takes a lot of energy for our foods to digest, especially after many years of abusive eating of processed unenriched foods.

Over the many years of eating processed unenriched foods our bodies are depleted in enzymes. By juicing fresh raw juices you get immediate enzymes into the body. This is the element that allows our bodies to be alive and well nourished. Enzymes are substances which digest our foods and then absorbs it into our blood stream giving us the nourishment we need to sustain life.

My entire family benefited from my juicing program. My children loved the fresh juices I began to make for myself. Soon we were all enjoying the yummy fresh taste and nutritional benefits from raw fresh juices. Some of their favorites were purple grapes with celery. Just a perfect blend sweet with salty. This was one of their favorites. They actually liked both the green and red grapes. They enjoyed fresh squeezed orange juice and grapefruit juice also. Another favorite was celery, cucumber, small handful of parsley, romaine lettuce, green pepper, garlic, cayenne pepper (pinch) and fresh home grown tomatoes. This was a big favorite and so filled with nutrition. You would think with the garlic that they wouldn’t like it but it actually added just the right flavor. My one daughter would ask me to make it for her almost daily. She loved it. They loved the sweeet yummy taste of plain carrot juice. This was always a big hit. They began to add carrot juice to their granola cereal instead of almond milk. Carrot and celery was another juice enjoyed by everyone. We added cucumber to the celery and carrot. We just became creative. Beets were also added. We learned that beets are a big cleanser to the body and also added a lot of iron. You can be so creative in your juicing.

Just remember to wash your vegetables and fruits really good. We peeled the vegetables that weren’t organic. We grew a lot of our vegetables which helped on our grocery bill and knew they were organic It’s very important to was your veggies and fruits good and wash your juicer parts good.

With our juicer we began to make frozen ice cream from various fruits. The children would love to create their own yummy creations. It was fun and they received a great education in nutrition and caring for their bodies. We also enjoyed all their various yummy creations. Juicing was fun and benefited our entire family in many ways besides good health. We had fun learning and caring for our bodies. We had fun creating our own receipies and growing our own vegetables. It was a fun time together.
